Life on the open road brings a feeling of exuberant excitement and endless curiosity for what lies ahead. Adventurous engagements like exploring miles from the nearest cell tower or dry camping at a local vineyard for days on end sound pretty amazing, but each require some planning and gear to make the experience live up to your dreams.

Two years of full-time travel – including a year of mostly boondocking as we quickly moved from place to place in our Winnebago View – has left us with a list of must-have gear upgrades. While these items are extra helpful for those who rarely “plug in,” most are super useful for all RVers alike.

Watch the video above for full details on our top gear upgrades, and see below for links to each. Happy Travels!

Another option regarding your 12volt fans, although probably not as powerful (and probably not paying you a referral), are black fans that are about 6″ diameter with two speeds and a switch to turn on oscillating or fixed mode. They have spring loaded clamps that we put on an open cupoard door or wherever.

We have used 2 for years, one front and one in master. An added benefit is the addition of a ‘white noise’ environment while my wife stays up watching TV upfront, plus they mask outside sounds at a noisy campsite.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEY COST LESS THAN $20 EACH AT AUTO PARTS STORES AND I THINK WALMART!!

With regard to your “water saving shower head”, I installed one just a couple of yrs ago on our C-Class Winnebago. I was very dissapointed because it never shut off at the handle, which probably wasted as much water as it probably saved. We now have a 2015 fully equipped Winnebago Aspect with only 3,800mi. It too has a factory or dealer installed shower head that is identical to your video, the one that I installed before, and our current coach!

Years ago ( many ) I was in the dealership business as a rep for Winnebago, Coachman, and Travelmate. Back then, there were hand-helds that actually would shut off completely while you might be applying soap etc.

Does any one now know of a product available now that actually works this way???

I am curious how you used the Wi Fi wireless cam in your RV adventures? It would need a local wi fi network arrangement to work would it not?

    thanks
